Students make Mid-State and All-State Choirs

Every mid to late October, choral students from around the state audition for placement on the Mid-State and All-State Choirs. Students were required to learn music that isn’t in their everyday school choral repertoire and perform it in front of a panel of three judges (the judges are choir directors from all across the middle Tennessee area). Additionally, they were required to sightread a small segment of music with only 30 seconds of study time.

Join us in congratulating our choral students for placing in Freshman Honors, Mid-State, and All-State Choirs!

Emilie Williams – 12th Grade – Soprano2 – Mid-State SSAA Choir AND All-State SSAA Choir

Chris Muller – 11th Grade – Bass – Mid-State SATB Choir AND All-State TTBB Choir

Russell Fernandez Selles – 11th Grade – Tenor 2 – Mid-State SATB Choir AND All-State TTBB Choir (1st Alternate)

Annabelle Callister – 11th Grade – Soprano 2 – Mid-State SSAA Choir

Sinead Mukolo-Villegas – 9th Grade – Alto – Freshman SATB Choir

Andrew Williams – 9th Grade – Bass – Freshman SATB Choir

“I am very proud of the hard work the students put forth on their own, with our voice teacher, and with me. Once again, JPII is well represented in the Middle Tennessee area!” said Mr. Mike O’Neill, Choral Director.

The MTVA Mid-State and Freshman Honors Festival is scheduled for November 12-13, 2018. The event will be held at Christ Church in Nashville.
