The Knights wrestling team picked up their first team win of the season over Grace Christian last week. Freshmen Kyler Oathout and Parker Sutton each won their matches by pinfall.
Leanna Pearson shot 83% from the 3-point mark going 5 for 6 and racking up 21 total points as the Lady Knights defeated Lipscomb, 41-26, to pick up their first region win in three years. Keonna Chumbley added 11 points and 8 rebounds to help the cause. Earlier in the week, the Lady Knights crushed Merrol Hyde, 60-13. Keonna Chumbley led the Lady Knights with 12 points followed by Sabria Brown, Aspen Whittington, and Tatumn Clark all with 9. The Lady Knights finished the week falling to Goodpasture, 27-39.
The men’s basketball team held on to defeat Lipscomb Academy, 46-42 last Friday. Michael Martini recorded 13 points and 7 rebounds, while Taggert Patterson added 9 points. Earlier in the week, the Knights battled hard but came up short against Merrol Hyde, 68-71. Sam Specht returned to action after being injured scoring 24 points, while Sabino Otira chipped in 15. On Saturday, the Knights fell to Goodpasture, 33-63.
The Knights’ women’s and men’s swim teams defeated Hume Fogg, Hillboro, and Martin Luther King in their meet last week. The men’s team won all three of their match ups while the women’s team won 2 out of 3.
The Knights hockey team struggled last week offensively falling to Centennial/Page, 0-9, and to Father Ryan, 2-5. J.T. Ernst and Max Galpin scored the only two Knights goals during the week. The Knights hope to rebound on Monday against Ravenwood at Centennial Sportsplex.
