Congratulations to Angi Puckett who was recently named Coach of the Year by Main Street Preps. “We are very proud of Coach Puckett. She works extremely hard, is very passionate about what she does, and teaches more than just basketball to her players. We feel she is building something special here at JPII and we are excited about our women’s basketball program’s future,” said John Dempsey, JPII Athletic Director.
Sophomore Leanna Pearson was named Most Improved with an average of 9.5 points per game, 2.4 steals per game, and 2.3 rebounds per game.
Main Street Preps also announced the 2018-2019 All-Sumner County girls’ basketball team which includes players of nine Sumner County schools including Beech, Gallatin, Hendersonville, Merrol Hyde, JPII, Portland, Station Camp, Westmoreland, and White House.
Junior Ashley Malone was named to the 2018-2019 All-Sumner County Frist Team. Ashley was the driving force behind JPII’s success this year. As a junior point guard, she averaged 11 points per game, 3.5 steals per game, 1.7 assists per game, and 2 rebounds per 32 minutes.
Sophomore Keonna Chumbley was named to the 2018-2019 All-Sumner County Second Team. Keonna averaged 9 points per game, 5.6 rebounds per game, 3 steals per game, and 1.3 assists per game.
