JPII junior, Hannah Grubbs is the founder of Bows and Ballcaps, a charity that donates care packages to children who lost their hair from cancer or alopecia. The organization has been in operation for six years and to date, they have donated more than 17,000 bows and ballcaps to children around the country.
The organization also hosts an annual Breakfast with Santa. Families enjoy a festive holiday breakfast and the children get to visit with Santa. New toys are collected at the breakfast and later distributed to children who will spend Christmas in the hospital. Hannah’s outreach began with Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital and now extends to ten area hospitals.
Hannah was diagnosed with alopecia at age one and lost her hair, which still hasn’t grown back. Hannah is an outstanding example of how a JPII student takes what most see as adversity and finds a way to make a positive impact on others.
