About JPII

Dear JPII Community,

Our Theatre’s fall production, Radium Girls, is this weekend. Our JPII actors and technicians have done some fantastic work in preparation for this play, and we are excited to showcase their work on Friday and Saturday at 7:00 p.m. Please see our website for details and ticket information.

Thank you for supporting our athletes last week, and congratulations to all of our Knights for another successful week of competition. Women’s soccer had an impressive win against Brentwood Academy and volleyball showed it’s power with a big win against Beech High School. Cross country gave a strong performance over the weekend at the Bridges Invitational and football walked away with the fourth consecutive win against Fr. Ryan. All in all, it was a great week, and we look forward to continued success for all of our programs as we make the march toward playoffs.

Thursday morning, School Counseling is hosting a speaker for parents of 9th-11th graders in our library at 8:30 a.m. Matt Steiner, Senior Director at Compass Education Group, will discuss the use of standardized tests in the college admission process, the current landscape of testing policies, and practical guidance for exam timing and preparation. Matt has over a decade of experience in the field of test preparation. He has worked as an instructor, consultant, and keynote speaker on the topic of admission testing, and currently teaches graduate-level lectures on the subject for the counselor certificate programs at UC San Diego, UC Irvine, and UCLA.

Our counselors also invite interested students to attend Military Academy Day 2019 at Wilson Central High School on October 19th, sponsored by Congressman John Rose. Students have the opportunity to learn about college scholarships and meet with representatives, alumni, Cadets, and Midshipmen from the Military Service Academies and ROTC programs. The event is open to all students in Tennessee’s 6th Congressional District. Registration for students and parents is at 9:30 a.m., and the program adjourns at noon. More information is available by calling 931-854-9430.

As part of his TEAM CATHOLIC message, Bishop Spalding congratulates JPII for winning the Bishop’s Cup. The recording will air three times on Titans Radio 104.5FM on Thursday night during the Titans game. For a preview, visit Catholic Minute

Sincerely,

Mike Deely
