About JPII

Knight Notes

Dear JPII Community,

We had an exceptional turnout last night at our Back to School Night. It was a great opportunity for parents and teachers to get acquainted, review class objectives, and start the academic year right. I appreciate you, and our remarkable teachers, for investing the time to be here. We emphasize parents as partners in education, so the relationship with you and our faculty is key to the success of our students.

As mentioned last night, the counseling office is an excellent resource for academics and any personal or social issues impacting your student. The House System determines your student’s counselor. Kelsey Hill is the counselor for the Houses of Clement and Gregory, Sarah McIlroy for John and Leo, and Mary Brahos for Peter and Pius. Know that we are here to support you, and we welcome your questions and communication at any time.

Friday night is our home football opener, and we are expecting a significant crowd to welcome the Knights to the new season. The evening will be full of excitement with several activities, including honoring 2017 alumnus Mason Hickman. Hickman, a pitcher for Vanderbilt, was a significant contributor in the College World Series Championship.

The Knight Athletic Club (KAC) will sponsor a faculty and staff appreciation night. Faculty and staff will be recognized for their dedication and commitment to our school, students, and community. If you would like to volunteer, please visit https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c094ca8af2ba5fa7-jpii.

Friday night is also our Fund for Excellence Kick-off. Make sure to stop by your student’s House tent, meet the parent representatives, sign up for House points, and pick up a drink and koozie.

Kick-off is at 7:00 p.m., but be sure to be there for the traditional Knight Walk at 6:05 p.m. Tickets for the game are $7.00 and can be purchased online or at the gate. Free parking is available in the grass, and a limited number of paved parking is available for $10.00.

As the fall athletic season begins, we encourage you to come out and support our student-athletes in all sports. We look forward to seeing you Friday night.

Sincerely,
Mike Deely
