About JPII

Knight Notes

Dear JPII Community,

Seniors have four more days until graduation. Many are finishing up their Advanced Placement exams and other finals. Today they will gather for their Senior Walk and we will line the hallways to wish them a happy, but tearful goodbye.

The Class of 2019 has many reasons to stand tall as they walk the halls for the last time. As a class, they have completed thousands of hours of service, transforming the lives of people in their community, throughout the country, and across the globe with acts of mercy, compassion, and support. Academically, they have the second highest ACT composite score in the history of the school and in the arts and athletics they have received numerous honors and recognition. Collectively, they have taken an incredibly rigorous course load over four years. Individually, they have each developed a personal passion for learning, interests in new subjects, and the ability to meet challenges, all of which will make them successful in their careers. In the fall, this class will matriculate to top colleges and universities throughout the United States. They are grateful for and humbled by, their God-given gifts. Personally, I believe they are a wonderful group of people, each with their strengths and weaknesses, but all with the gift of making our lives better for having known them. Farewell Class of 2019! You will be missed but never forgotten. Let your faith take you beyond yourselves and go out and build God’s kingdom everywhere you go.

For our families of graduates, Senior Awards Night is Thursday, May 16 at 6:00 pm and all are invited to join us as we recognize the seniors and their accomplishments. Baccalaureate Mass is Saturday, May 18 at 4:00 pm at The Catholic Pastoral Center. Graduation is Sunday, May 19 at 1:30 pm at the Grand Ole Opry. Please contact Dana Hanson if you have questions about graduation events or need graduation tickets, dana.hanson@jp2hs.org.

On May 24, we will begin our summer hours. Offices will be open from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm Monday through Friday except for the first week of July. July 1-5 the school will be closed. Over the summer you will periodically receive announcements and news via email. Be on the lookout for a message from me about new uniform options soon.

Finally, we are collecting used backpacks for the Hendersonville Police Department’s K9 Unit. We hope to donate 40 backpacks, which they will use in training exercises. If you are replacing your current backpack and would like to donate it to this cause, please deposit it in the box located as you exit the academic wing.

Sincerely,

Mike Deely
