About JPII

Knight Notes

Dear JPII Community,

This week we have a lot to be excited about in athletics. The Bowling Team heads off to the state tournament tomorrow. Not only are we competing as a team, but we also have bowlers competing as individuals. We celebrate our Lady Knights Swim Team, which remains undefeated, and we acknowledge the Lady Knights Basketball Team’s winning streak. Join the fun and come out for an exciting night of basketball on January 25th when we travel to Fr. Ryan.

Our Gala on February 2nd is fast approaching. Our theme this year is “Knights of The Roundtable A Night of Medieval Merriment”. Please send in your reservations as soon as possible. We will be honoring the 2009 Men’s Lacrosse State Championship Team and Coaches and Board of Trustees Presidents. If you have questions, contact Jo Lind Weaver at jolind.weaver@jp2hs.org.

The 46th Annual March for Life is January 18th in Washington, D.C. This is the world’s largest pro-life event. We are proud to send a group of students and teachers to represent JPII. Please join us in prayer to end abortion.

Finally, it is with great regret that I share with you that our receptionist, Linda Smotherman, will retire effective Friday, January 18th. Linda is leaving us to care for her husband Charlie who is suffering with Alzheimer’s disease. Linda loves JPII and the community, so it is with a heavy heart that she comes to this decision. She will miss her post at the front desk and we will all miss her friendly smile and warm, calm demeanor.

Sincerely In Christ,

Mike Deely
