The JPII Choral Program is considered one of the very best in the state of Tennessee, as evidenced by the number of all-state performers and straight “superior” ratings at the state choral festivals for the last five years. Additionally, we are fortunate to have over 20% of the JPII student body in our choral program, buoyed by a three year “fine arts” graduation requirement for all students.
Our Beginning Men’s and Beginning Women’s Choirs introduce young singers to the art of choral music through skill appropriate repertoire and fundamental concepts of various music theory/history lessons.
Our Concert Choir serves as an intermediate ensemble, and gives young singers their first exposure to SAB and SATB repertoire. In this ensemble, students will learn more advanced music theory skills and begin to refine aural and sight singing abilities.
Bella Voce, our elite women’s ensemble, and Chamber Choir, our elite mixed ensemble, serve as our busiest choral ensembles on and off campus. Constantly asked to perform in a variety of venues and locations, these singers represent the best of the best of our choral musicians.
