Coach Shaver

Coach Kim Shaver is entering her 6th season as the head volleyball coach at JPII. She grew up in the Chicago area and was an ESCC all conference player at Marian Catholic High School. She played for 2nd City Volleyball Club which traveled nationally and made 2 Junior Olympic appearances, and then went on to play college volleyball at Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville. Coach Shaver has 4 years of past head coaching experience in Sumner County High Schools, where she was named Sumner County Coach of the Year in 1998. She also completed a coaching internship at The University of California at Davis in July of 1998, and has 7 years of experience coaching in Junior Olympic Club programs in both Nashville and Chicago. In 2012, she was the director for the Alliance North satellite club and also led her 14-1 team to win the championship in 3 club tournaments. Under Coach Shaver, JPII Volleyball is proud to have had 3 “Sumner County Player of the Year” award winners – 2009 Katie Collier, 2011 Lucy Martin, and 2012 Mia Buda.  In 2013, she led the Lady Knights to a volleyball school record with 22 wins.  Coach Shaver lives in Hendersonville with her husband and 4 children.
