Filmmaking (Co-Ed / Rising 4th - Rising 8th)

Let's make a movie! During camp, we will learn about the video production process: storyboarding, scripting, filming, and editing, and together we will make a short movie using iMovie. Science Sleuth: The Unseen World (Co-Ed / Rising 1st - Rising 6th)

Science becomes active as the Science Sleuths of 2024 spend a week investigating what actually happened in the nursery rhymes of our childhood days. Why could the wolf blow the house down, and we could design one to withstand his breath? How did the cow jump over the moon? Did he use a rocket? What about Humpty Dumpty? Could we save him by designing a better parachute? Each day, we will investigate how things move and then be presented with an engineering challenge to test our skills. We will have a blast during Sleuth camp this year, engineering away the nursery rhyme characters' problems so they can live happily ever after! Jennifer Dye, Camp Director

Summer Fun (Co-Ed / Rising 2nd - Rising 6th) 

What better way to spend summer than with friends playing games in the sun? Campers will participate in team-building activities, fun games, and competitions. Activities include water balloon battles, water games, kickball, relay races, scavenger hunts, and more! Campers should plan on bringing a water bottle and sunscreen each day. Summer of Saints (Co-Ed / Rising Pre K - Rising 3rd)

Embark on a journey of faith, creativity, and engineering at this one-of-a-kind camp! Summer of Saints combines the wisdom of saints with hands-on engineering challenges, inclusive play, and Catholic values. We will explore two saints per day. Campers will enjoy designing a miniature animal shelter that promotes pets' well-being, inspired by St. Francis's love for animals and a catapult inspired by St. Joan of Arc's courage during battles. Girls Basketball Fundamentals (Girls / Rising 4th - Rising 8th)

Players will work on the fundamentals of the game of basketball: shooting, passing, ball handling, defensive positioning, and attacking the rim. Players should wear a white shirt, bring a dark-colored shirt for competition teams, a water bottle, and money for snacks during the break. Kim deMarigny, Camp Director

Bowling (Co-Ed / Rising 6th - Rising 12th)

Campers of all skill levels will improve their physical form and learn all the basics of the game. Campers will learn how to shoot spares properly and read lane conditions/oil patterns. They will gain an understanding of the different kinds of bowling balls, what they do and which is best for them, how to surface a bowling ball,  how to use tape, and why it's helpful. They will also learn about ball motion and rotation and how to read a lane and adjust it. Although there will be a lot of learning, we will also have much fun! Switching up different games involving teamwork and various drills will keep everyone intrigued and entertained. Knight Stars Dance (Co-Ed / Rising Kindergarten - Rising 8th)

Are you ready to dance at the JPII Knight Stars Dance camp? Coach Caroline Leonard and the Pope dance team will teach campers jazz, pom, and hip-hop routines, accompanied by dance techniques and fun games. Football Offensive Skills (Co-Ed / Rising 3rd - Rising 8th)

Join Pope Prep varsity football coach Phillip Montgomery and players for our four-day Offensive Youth Football Camp. Campers will learn football fundamentals and techniques designed to improve their skill level regardless of experience. Be The Light to all the world - Faith, Music, Arts and Crafts. Each day will focus on different bible verses about being God's Light to the whole world with prayer, music, arts, and crafts to match the verse of the day. Fun with Food: Sugar Cookie Decorating (Co-Ed / Rising 6th - Rising 8th)

Is your child interested in baking? In this fun, creative, hands-on camp, campers will make several flavors of sugar cookies and royal icing and learn how to decorate them professionally! Tech Tales: AI Slide Adventures (Co-Ed / Rising 2nd - Rising 6th)

In Tech Tales, campers will develop presentation skills using Canva and Google Slides, enhanced with AI elements. Through hands-on activities, campers will learn to create visually appealing presentations, incorporating AI features to make their slides interactive and captivating. The camp fosters creativity, communication, and tech proficiency in a fun and supportive environment. (Campers will need to bring a digital device.) Cara Wade, Camp Director

Introduction to Basketball Skills and Drills (Co-Ed / Rising K - Rising 4th)

The JPII men's basketball coaches and players will demonstrate and teach solid foundations for all fundamentals of the game, including motivation, sportsmanship, and positive self-esteem. Each camper will receive instruction in all aspects of play, including ball handling, passing, catching, shooting, offensive spacing, moving, and defense. Our teaching progression takes into account various skill differences. Therefore, to make the most of learning opportunities, all campers are evaluated and placed within groups of similar abilities, regardless of age. Through small group instruction, campers participate in station work, drills, and game experience from simulated game situations, 3v3 and 5v5.  Each camper will need to provide their own basketball. Introductory Cheer (Girls / Rising Pre K - Rising 8th grade) 

Come learn cheers, basic motions, and stunts from your football/competition cheerleaders! During this camp, your camper will be offered resources to grow their love for this sport while making new friends. At the end of camp, we will have a send-off routine to show friends and family! Girls Introductory Lacrosse (Girls / Rising 2nd - Rising 5th)

If you haven't heard - lacrosse is the most thrilling sport your daughter hasn't tried yet! At this Youth Lacrosse camp, girls will be introduced to the fast, fun, and furious sport of girls lacrosse. Campers can expect to learn the basic foundational skills of catching, throwing, cradling, and shooting while also enjoying the structured gameplay to improve the skills they're learning in real-time. No experience is required - just a desire to try something new! Girls should bring their own mouthguards and goggles. Girls' own sticks are preferred, but the lacrosse program has a few that can be borrowed for the camp. Boys Soccer Fundamentals (Boys / Rising 3rd - Rising 8th)

Level up your soccer skills with JPII coaches and players! This camp is designed for boys of all skill levels. For elementary-age players and players with a basic familiarity with the game, the focus will be on developing or building basic soccer skills: dribbling, passing, defending, and shooting. For middle-school-age players who have played competitive soccer and want to continue their development towards higher levels of competition, the focus will be on further refinement of the fundamental soccer skills and awareness of game-specific techniques and tactics. Each day will include fun, competitive games that will culminate in a tournament on the last day. Tennis Fundamentals (Co-Ed / Rising 3rd - Rising 8th) 

This camp is designed for campers with little or no previous tennis experience. Emphasis will be on fundamentals, basic principles of stroke production, and learning to hit the ball back and forth through games. Low-compression balls and smaller courts are used to ensure children have better control and experience success from the very beginning. Get ready to use your creative skills to create your very own ceramic tic-tac-toe board! Campers will design and construct a creatively themed tic-tac-toe gaming board, utilize ceramic hand-building techniques and glaze, and take home their tic-tac-toe board at the end of the week. Creative Writing (Co-Ed / Rising 3rd - Rising 7th)

Let your imagination flow, and learn how to write your own short stories! Campers will develop skills in writing short stories and exposed to flash fiction and flash nonfiction. Campers will learn how to implement the mantra of creative writing: "show, don't tell," allowing them to write captivating stories which appeal to the reader's senses. Fiber Arts and Crafts (Co-Ed / Rising 6th - Rising 8th)

Do you love arts and crafts? Do you want to learn a new skill? At the Fiber Arts and Crafts camp, we will be creating art through the use of different textiles as well as recycled materials such as magazines and fabric. We will learn to crochet, collage, embroider, and make our own paper, and more. Some of our crafts will be donated to local communities and charities, while others will be nice souvenirs. Knights in Training (Co-Ed / Rising 6th - Rising 8th)

This camp is open exclusively to incoming 6th-grade and rising 7th & 8th-grade JPII students for the 2024-2025 school year. Incoming JPII middle school students will be introduced to life at JPII while having a chance to meet and build relationships with their new classmates. Students will receive their JPII iPads and have "crash courses" on Notability, Google Classroom, Gmail, Delta Math, and other apps used regularly in the JPII curriculum. Students will explore organizational strategies that will enable them to acclimate to the expectations of managing multiple classes. Students will also have the opportunity to experience the dining hall, auditorium, athletic facilities, and more! This camp is designed to alleviate the "first-day jitters" and the anxiety that comes with starting at a new school. This camp is only open to incoming JPII students. Calling all slime lovers to slime camp where it's all about, you guessed it, SLIME!! We will learn to make all kinds of slimy slimes. This camp will be fun, focusing on how slime feels, smells, looks, and sounds while making your own creations daily. Flag Football (Co-Ed / Rising 1st - Rising 6th)

The flag football camp is designed to develop players' fundamental skills and field sense. Campers will be organized by age and ability. Activities include scrimmages, positional work, and developing the fundamentals, such as passing, receiving, and de-flagging. Fundamentals of Girls Volleyball (Girls / Rising 4th - Rising 8th)

Join Lady Knights players and staff at volleyball camp! This camp will provide a fundamental environment for beginning players to learn and improve court movement along with the very basics of volleyball! Campers will use lighter volleyballs and a modified court size to ensure success for all beginners. This camp will also provide a more intense learning environment for intermediate/advanced players to grow in expertise and hone their volleyball skills. Campers will receive instruction in ball control, passing, setting, hitting, serving, and defense. "Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life." - Pablo Picasso. After a long school year, come wash away your frustration with art. This camp will introduce basic art principles and focus on drawing and painting. We will learn about different art styles and how to apply those styles to our own artwork. The projects will be fun but challenging and appropriate for older campers. BLOXELS: Video Game Design (Co-Ed / Rising 1st - Rising 6th)

Have you ever wanted to make your own video game? Have fun ideas for creating your video game land, characters, and stories? Campers will learn how to use the BLOXELS app to make their video game visions a reality. They will draft their storyline/gameplay, design their characters, and build their game with this beginner-friendly software. Campers will have a new challenge each day to add an element of design or storytelling to their game. "Are you ready for it?” CALLING ALL SWIFTIES!!! School is over, and It’s time to “Shake it Off!” Let’s join together and celebrate all things Taylor. This week, campers will enjoy dressing up and celebrating the Eras Tour. No “Cruel Summers” here! Campers will create “Bejeweled” friendship bracelets and other Taylor-inspired crafts. Campers will be introduced to the art of lyrical songwriting through poetry. With guided instruction, campers will craft an original poem (with the help of volunteering Swifties) to keep “Forever and Always” as a memento of camp. JPII's "Little Aprons" is designed to give campers a week to be creative with their kitchen skills. Campers will also curate a personalized cookbook with all recipes explored together throughout the week. Additionally, each day will have a surprise theme to guide the lesson. Board Gaming: Fun Unplugged (Co-Ed / Rising 4th - Rising 8th)

"There's more to life than increasing its speed, sometimes you need to slow down and play a board game." Video games and technology are great, but sometimes, we need to unplug and do something a little more hands-on and socially interactive. If you are looking for a break from the screens, this is the camp for you. We will learn to play board games that are challenging and thought-provoking and build skills like creative thinking, decision-making, and how to adjust goals as problems arise. Welcome to Junior Tech Coders Academy, where young minds dive into the fascinating world of coding using Scratch and interactive bots. Participants will unleash their imaginations, building games, animations, and real-world interactions. Baseball Fundamentals (Boys / Rising 1st - Rising 8th)

Come out for a fun week of baseball! Players will learn various skills related to throwing, catching, hitting, and base-running. This is a great opportunity to work with JPII's new head coach John Rypel. John coached baseball at the collegiate level for 17 years before coming to JPII. John Rypel, Camp Director

Golf Fundamentals (Co-Ed / Rising 1st - Rising 8th) 

Golf camp will cover golf basics, including the full-swing fundamentals, grip, posture, alignment, and ball position. The camp will also cover short game basics, pitching, chipping, putting, and bunker play. Each camper will receive one-on-one and group instruction in each area of the game. Campers will also have the opportunity to put their skills to the test through fun competitions. Please note that the cost of the camp includes a $30 greens fee and that campers must be dropped off and picked up at Twelve Stones Golf Club. It is recommended that each camper have their own clubs. Advanced Girls Lacrosse (Girls / Rising 6th - Rising 8th)

Is your middle schooler looking to improve her lacrosse skills in a fun and supportive environment over the summer? This is the camp for her. On Your Mark, Get Set, GO! (Co-Ed / Rising 3rd - Rising 8th)

Come out and experience Track and Field at JPII! Campers will spend the week learning running techniques, drills, strength and conditioning, and field events, including high jump, long jump, shot put, and discus. Students will compete on teams in the relay events, obstacle courses, and other team challenges. The entire week will be filled with chances to improve as a runner and an athlete. Beginner Wrestling (Co-Ed, Rising K - Rising 4th)

This wrestling camp is for those who are new to wrestling or early in their wrestling career! We will introduce and work on all wrestling fundamentals while simultaneously developing mental toughness. If possible, we will work with individual wrestlers on skills they want to improve on as well. There will also be live wrestling. No previous experience is required! Do you love Minecraft? Then this is your camp! Campers will participate in a variety of Minecraft activities, both online and hands-on. Campers will bring their devices for survival and creative mode challenges and participate in offline activities, including Minecraft Legos, Minecraft arts and crafts, Fort building, and a few other STEM-related activities. Tiny Tech Coders (Co-Ed / Rising Pre K - Rising 2nd)

Come and join our innovative Tiny Tech Coders Camp! This coding adventure is perfect for young minds who want to learn more about Scratch Jr and engaging programmable bots. Through hands-on activities, campers will unlock the basics of coding and create interactive stories and games with Scratch Jr. They will also gain practical experience with friendly bots that respond to their code commands. Our camp fosters creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork in a playful environment, laying the foundation for a lifelong journey into the exciting world of technology. Cara Wade, Camp Director

Taylor Swift Ultimate Fan Club (Co-Ed / Rising 2nd - Rising 6th)

"Are you ready for it?” CALLING ALL SWIFTIES!!! School is over, and It’s time to “Shake it Off!” Let’s join together and celebrate all things Taylor. This week, campers will enjoy dressing up and celebrating the Eras Tour. No “Cruel Summers” here! Campers will create “Bejeweled” friendship bracelets and other Taylor-inspired crafts. Campers will be introduced to the art of lyrical songwriting through poetry. With guided instruction, campers will craft an original poem (with the help of volunteering Swifties) to keep “Forever and Always” as a memento of camp. GYM CLASSics: Dodgeball, Kickball, & More! (Co-Ed / Rising 2nd - Rising 6th)

If you like the classic games from physical education class, this camp is for you! Campers will participate in different forms of Dodgeball, Kickball, and more. These games will promote teamwork, competitions, conditioning, and leadership, as well as promote physical well-being. Other games will include Capture the Flag, Four Square, and Handball. Pickleball (Co-Ed / Rising 3rd - Rising 8th)

Welcome to Pickleball camp! The game with the funny name is the fastest-growing sport in the US and a great way to introduce children to racquet sports. The game is easier to play than tennis – the racquet is shorter, the court is smaller, and the ball moves slower. While combining tennis, ping pong, and badminton elements, children often have an early appreciable satisfaction with Pickleball by experiencing greater contact with the ball, longer rallies, and the gratification of quickly excelling at a new sport. This camp will be indoors in a gym. Previous experience is not required, but campers must have their own pickleball paddles, which can be purchased at local and online retailers (see links below). Beginner Art - Drawing and Painting (Co-Ed / Rising 1st - Rising 5th)

"Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life." - Pablo Picasso After a long school year, come wash away your frustration with art. This camp will introduce basic art principles and focus on drawing and painting. We will learn about different art styles and how to apply those styles to our own artwork. Campers aren't required to have any existing art skills or experience, and they only need to bring an open mind and a positive attitude toward art. Nick Nitsch, Camp Director

Ceramic Tic-Tac-Toe Board Game Design (Co-Ed / Rising 3rd - Rising 8th)

Get ready to use your creative skills to create your very own ceramic tic-tac-toe board! Campers will design and construct a creatively themed tic-tac-toe gaming board, utilize ceramic hand-building techniques and glaze, and take home their tic-tac-toe board at the end of the week. Forensics (Speech & Debate) (Co-Ed / Rising 5th - Rising 8th)

Whether your child is a big talker or a wallflower, this camp for Middle School Forensics will boost their confidence and help them in school and throughout their life while also having fun. Designed for seasoned forensics competitors as well as those new to competitive speech, campers will experience many of the categories available, including Acting, Audition, Improv, Impromptu, and Poetry & Prose. Marine Biologist (Co-Ed / Rising 4th - Rising 8th)

Does your camper aspire to be a marine biologist and study the ocean and its animals? Campers will immerse themselves in the underwater world this week as we dive into the ocean all the way in Tennessee! We will make a splash through hands-on learning experiences and activities,
including underwater archaeology, oceanography, and marine animal biology (sharks, turtles, and whales, oh my!). Campers may even have the chance to adopt and track their own shark! Make sure

Silly Camp Songs (Co-Ed / Rising PreK - Rising 5th)

Camp songs and music are the name of the game! We will sing camp and silly songs and play fun music games. Campers must wear closed-toed shoes all week. This is the camp for campers who love playing games in elementary music class! Heather Martin, Camp Director

Summer of Saints (Co-Ed / Rising 4th - Rising 8th)

Embark on a journey of faith, creativity, and engineering at this one-of-a-kind camp! Summer of Saints combines the wisdom of saints with hands-on engineering challenges, inclusive play, and Catholic values. We will explore two saints per day. Campers will enjoy designing a miniature animal shelter that promotes pets' well-being, inspired by St. Francis's love for animals and a catapult inspired by St. Joan of Arc's courage during battles. Alleyxa Heisserer and Joshua Strope, Camp Directors

Teddy Bear Explorers (Co-Ed / Rising PreK - Rising 3rd)

Boys Lacrosse Fundamentals (Boys / Rising 2nd - Rising 6th)

JPII boys lacrosse camp is designed to develop players' fundamental skills and field sense. Campers will be organized by age and ability. Activities include positional work and working on the fundamentals of the game, such as passing, catching, shooting, dodging defense, and ground balls. There will also be numerous 3v3, 5v5, and 7v7 games throughout the week. Camp Champions will be crowned on the final day! If campers own a lacrosse stick, they should bring it with them. Advanced Wrestling (Co-Ed / Rising 5th - Rising 8th) 

This wrestling camp is for those who want to improve their skill level in takedowns and top and bottom positions. The camp will also work on mental toughness. When working on moves, we will also work on the defense of those moves. If possible, we will work with individual wrestlers on skills they want to improve on as well. There will also be live wrestling. This camp is open to both males and females who are rising 5th to 8th graders. If there is room, we will accept a younger sibling. Campers will explore various mediums, fostering self-expression and a love for the arts. From watercolor landscapes to chalk murals to sculpting with clay, each day will be a new adventure with engaging activities, collaborative projects, and more. JPII Who? (Co-Ed / Rising 3rd - Rising 6th) 

Who was Pope John Paul II? Following in the footsteps of a man of many talents, campers will dive into activities that explore the Saint's love for theatre, sports, and global cultures, all the while learning about his theological legacy. Campers will explore the life of Pope John Paul II through interactive activities and educational, spiritual lessons. From researching his travels through digital language tools to integrating sports and the gospel message to exploring his love of the rosary through artwork, campers will gain a deeper understanding of the life and legacy of our namesake.  Abby Chittle, Camp Director

Olympic Gold (Co-Ed / Rising 1st - Rising 6th) 

Field Day time!!! Activities include tye-dye shirts, outdoor relay races, end-of-the-week water games, and more. Campers will enjoy time both inside and outside to play various games and play in different tournaments as the week progresses. Campers should expect to bring a change of clothes for the days with water games. Campers of any skill and experience are welcome to attend! Calling all slime lovers to slime camp where it's all about, you guessed it, SLIME!! We will learn to make all kinds of slimy slimes. This camp will be fun, focusing on how slime feels, smells, looks, and sounds while making your own creations daily. Divine Discoveries STEM (Co-Ed / Rising PreK - Rising 3rd)

Ignite your child’s curiosity and creativity with our Divine Discoveries STEM Camp! This uniquely designed camp combines the excitement of STEM challenges with the timeless stories of faith. Campers will enjoy designing a small scale flotation model while learning about buoyancy and stability simulating Noah’s Ark, learn basic electrical concepts creating a simple LED circuit to represent Moses and the Burning Bush, and many more. Barbie Themed Cheer (Girls / Rising Kindergarten - Rising 5th)

Are you looking for a fun way to dress up, dance, and dream all things Barbie?!   This is the camp for you! Campers will learn a routine Monday - Thursday and end the week with a performance and a special guest on Friday. Parents are welcome to come to Friday’s performance. We ask that campers wear Barbie-themed items/colors and athletic shoes all week. A performance shirt and hair ribbon will be provided to be worn on Friday with black bottoms of your choice. Campers should bring a water bottle daily; light snacks will be provided. We will also have daily arts and crafts.
