Our House System
Pope John Paul II High School was founded on the conviction that education extends beyond the classroom. We want students to build relationships with each other and with our faculty in meaningful, healthy ways. To this end, all students and faculty are assigned to a particular “House” when they arrive at JPII. There are six Houses within the school, each named for a pope whose example of openness, faith, and service to others provides us inspiration to live as Christ desires us to live.
The Houses are comprised of students from every grade level, led by a faculty Housemaster and Assistant Housemaster, faculty advisors and a House Leadership Council of students. Each house brandishes a unique color and has developed its own traditions, coat of arms, and Latin motto. Students are assigned to their houses at the freshman retreat and will remain in the same house throughout their four years at JPII. To build House identities, the school sponsors “House games” and various other competitions through out the year, leading to the “House Cup” awarded to the House which accumulates the most points by year end.
It’s a lot of fun!
