Hammer Named All State in Softball
image
Congratulations to graduating senior Ashley Hammer, who was named first team all state in softball after leading her team to the state semi-finals in May. Here's what the Tennessean had to say in naming Ashley to the team:

Pope John Paul II High senior Ashley Hammer was an infield selection in Division II (for all state). Hammer had a team-best .442 batting average, 41 hits, 24 singles, a team-high 11 doubles, a team-leading four triples, two home runs, a .587 on-base percentage and a team-high .630 slugging percentage.

Hammer - a Belmont University signee - helped the Lady Knights to a 17-19 record and a berth in the Division II-Class AA State Tournament. The four-year starter led the PJP II program to three state tournament appearances and a state runner-up finish in 2007.

Congratulations, Ashley!
