I am the youngest of five children in a family of educators.  My mother taught French, and my father was a professor of the History of the English language and Old & Middle English literature.  I grew up in a culture of loving language and literature, and I always enjoy sharing some of that interest and enthusiasm with my students.

My education focused on the history, literature, languages, philosophies, religions, arts, and technologies of the ancient world.  My focus in graduate school was on Roman literature and Latin teaching methods.  I have taught Latin at the middle school, high school, and university level.  I have also taught Greek & Roman history at the middle school level.

I have played soccer my whole life, and I have been coaching varsity, junior varsity, middle school, and club soccer since finishing graduate school.
