Jordan Tupper, a Maine native, settled in the Nashville area in 2006. Jordan grew up active in school music programs and was recognized for his achievements in both band and choir. He was selected to participate in the district, all-state and all-eastern vocal ensembles. Jordan also was the recipient of several music scholarships and awards at the conclusion of his time at Yarmouth High School.
Following high school, Jordan attended Elon University, in Elon, North Carolina, as the recipient of the Alyse Smith Cooper scholarship. There, he performed in “The Fire of the Carolinas” (Marching Band) Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Small Group Jazz Ensembles, Pep Band, Elan (Vocal Jazz), Chorale, and Camerata (Chamber Singers). Jordan was recognized with leadership positions in these groups and was honored with the awarding of the prestigious Presser Award and Scholarship. Jordan was also the recipient of the Directors Award as a member of the Fire of the Carolina’s Marching Band. While at Elon, Jordan served as a paid musician for two local congregations on a weekly basis, the First Christian United Church of Christ and Holy Comforter Episcopal Church.
Following his graduation from Elon with a bachelor’s degree, double majoring in Music and Religious Studies, Jordan began graduate studies at Lancaster Theological Seminary in Lancaster, PA. While there, he continued music, and performed in the Lancaster Chamber Singers, under Dr. Jay Risser. Jordan completed his graduate studies at Austin Peay State University with a Masters degree in Music Education and has taught at several Nashville area schools. He is currently the Director of Instrumental Music at Pope John Paul II High School in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
Jordan has been fortunate to study under fantastic teachers and music educators. He has studied with Dr. Bruce Fithian, Dr. Kenneth Lee, Dr. Stephen Futrell, Dr. Thomas Erdmann, Tony Sawyer, Rick Dustin, Jon Metzger, Dr. Charles Hogan, Dr. Gregory Wolynec, Dr. Eric Branscome, Professor John Schnettler and many more.
Jordan is the lucky husband of Amanda and proud father of Cora and Ruthanne Tupper.
